HEATHERS LAST SPENCERIAN FLING

Last letters done in a rush as we are having an exhibition just after Christmas and I will put my finished box on show. Lesson learned from first alphabet - this is a transportable, light, easy -to- photograph affair in a box I found at our local Vinnies. Picture to follow when completed.

 ALAW has been such fun and it has been a delight to see how creative everyone is. A very Happy Christmas and New Year fellow letterers. Looking forward to seeing your finished masterpieces.

Rainy weekend so plenty of time to get going...and going....could not stop so you get 2 months worth in one go. And I finished and mounted my first alphabet (posted Monday 4/10) so am feeling very virtuous.

Heather's finished first ALAw ...at last!

Have learned that putting concrete on paper and other assorted "heavy" items does not work and my first attempt at mounting this was a disaster as the whole thing collapsed while I was trying to photograph it. This is version 2.

My second ALAW will be a sedate boxed- up affair which will be much easier to transport and store.
We learn!!

Heather's 2nd set of 2nd alphabet letters

Thought I'd get this one in early. My second alphabet, Spencerian...I just love this flowing script....could write it all day.

Here is the start of my second alphabet. I have mounted my first one and will photograph it and send to you as soon as it is able to be hung.

My last alphabet was of found objects...this one is my favourite Spencerian Script on "plastic" paper, mounted on foiled paper which I cut from a Brandenberg Concert Brochure and which has been hidden in my scrap paper basket, waiting for the right moment. I had a hankering to do some writing this time. Carpe Diem...22 to go.

Here are my March (and early April) letters...all from items found on my daily walks...

HEATHER'S FOUND ALPHABET

All letters mounted on handmade, recycled paper from Primrose Park, Sydney. Stuck to left-over invitations cut to 7cm.



Letters made from objects found by me on my morning walks...... found by the side of the road...... or from my sewing box.  Various materials (the materials should be obvious so I won't list them).
